Earth Day Contributions


In celebration of Earth Day, we asked our customers and employees to tell us what they do to help make Earth a better place for everyone. We received many responses and we wanted to share these ideas with you. We found that our customers and employees are doing a number of very unique things to save our planet!

  • Collecting rain in rain barrels for gardening and watering the lawn
  • Composting
  • Replacing water bottles with Pur® water dispenser
  • Taking cold showers!
  • Driving hybrid cars
  • Riding bikes
  • Recycling plastic bags at the grocery store
  • Taking cloth bags to the grocery store
  • Shutting off car engine when waiting for someone
  • Reusing scrap paper
  • Using pencils made from natural wood
  • Teaching children about recycling
  • Checking all faucets for leaks
  • Becoming more educated about the relationship between technology and the environment
  • Promoting wastewater reuse
  • Recycling aluminum cans and plastic bottles
  • Planting fruit trees in the yard
  • Adopting a highway to clean-up garbage and recyclable materials along major highways
  • Lecturing to students about endocrine disrupting chemicals in our environment
  • Planting American hybrid chestnut trees to help reduce carbon emissions and help restore the American Chestnut Tree
  • Planting flowers and setting up bird feeders
  • Cleaning up the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta by kayak
